YOU AND ME Magazine aims to showcase outstanding creative content as an online magazine and a paper publication. The concept is open for discussion between the contributers. The process is democratic.
YOU AND ME are interested in showcasing all styles of creative works suited for these two mediums, including: illustration, graphic design, photography, drawing, painting, video, sound, text. We are also interested in the debate around the content and how it is shown.
The brief for the first issue of You & Magazine is “Online / Offline.” This relates to the concept of the magazine and of course its actuality today. It’s something that we perhaps normally think of in commercial terms, but there’s more to it…
I´ll give you some of my thoughts around this subject to get you started. We've had mobile phones and computers for a while now, but I still feel like we are at a early stage of adapting to this technology. This is of course a result of the fast development in technology but also a matter of discovering and inventing new social patterns. I think for instance we all have had times where our habits connected to computer technology has had influence on an offline moment. I remember the first odd moment where I wanted to push "apple" Z to undo something in physical life for instance.
Working with this project I have come to realize the power of internet networking. I think a lot of you are aware of this power already and the presence of networking sites in the world today is massive, MySpace, facebook, YouTube, underskog etc. I want to see what we can get out of this together. The magazine is an online/offline project in itself so lets make it work.
